2008-04-28- The (New) Year of the Conferences:
OK, so I'm a sucker. Or, at best, an attention-whore. 2007 was to have been the Year of the Conferences, but after this weekend's jaunt to the Pikes Peak Writers Conference, I fear the madness will continue well into 2008.
Since the last update, Patchwork was honored as a finalist in RMFW's 2007 Colorado Gold Writing Contest (Mainstream Fiction). Closer to home, the Pikes Peak Writers awarded Patchwork First Place in the 2008 Paul Gillette Writing Contest (Historical Fiction). I'm deeply honored by these and all the previous recognition. Jim's story will make it to print eventually, but it's now time to focus on Iudila and Confessio Nauticus.
The fast-approaching Summer will take us to New York and Denver, with a possible side-trip to Seattle, all with the aim of having Nauticus ready to shop before the leaves start changing.
In the meantime, I'll be reading or eagerly anticipating a few new releases.
